Chris & Jamie Herb
Co-Founders, Couples Marriage Ministry
Chris and Jamie, founders of Couples Marriage Ministry, bring 30 years of ministry experience to their work. They have mentored over 150 couples and co-created The Marriage Journal. Chris is a licensed pastor, speaker, and executive coach, while Jamie holds a master's degree in education, is trained in healing prayer, and is passionate about discipling women. Couples Marriage Ministry is dedicated to ensuring every marriage has a mentor couple in their corner by training churches to build marriage mentor teams. The Herbs create opportunities for couples to encounter Jesus, foster deep connections with one another, and experience life-on-life mentorship with other couples. They believe marriage should be fun, mission-driven, and get better every year!
Brendan McCarthy
NCC, LPC-MHSP
Brendan McCarthy is the founder and owner of SESSIONS Psychology. As a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC-MHSP) licensed in Tennessee, Brendan treats a wide variety of mental health issues across a broad spectrum of clients. He provides individual and couples counseling as well as group facilitation, tailoring his approach to best fit the unique needs of every client.
Marshall & Emily Jamieson
Jamieson Coaching
Marshall and Emily Jamieson have been married for 20 years, serving together in ministry since meeting on a blind date in 2005. They're passionate about helping people build authentic, whole relationships marked by a deep experience of God's love.
Emily, a certified Executive Coach with a master's in Theology and Leadership, co-founded The Transformation Triad, coaching leaders in character formation. Marshall serves as Area Director for Young Life in Gig Harbor and is a certified Spiritual Director. Together, raising four sons and mentoring couples, they've learned healthy marriages are built intentionally.
Greg & Lora Goodenough
Greg and Lora have been married for 20 years. After discovering firsthand that marriage wasn’t easy, they began marriage counseling as newlyweds and learned early the value of working to understand themselves and one another. They have served their church’s marriage ministry in premarital and enrichment groups, mentored couples, and walked alongside couples experiencing conflict. Greg is a trained mediator, and Lora is a former licensed marriage and family therapist who spent 20 years as a therapist, clinical supervisor, and counselor educator. Together, they also serve internationally with Couples Marriage Ministry, assisting with marriage retreats in Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic.

Pack comfortable, casual clothes for the sessions and free time. You may also want to bring a Bible, a notebook, and anything else that helps you process the weekend! If you plan on going out for a special date night on Saturday evening, feel free to bring one nicer outfit.

To allow you and your spouse to fully focus on each other, this event is child-free. We encourage you to make childcare arrangements early so you can fully unplug and enjoy the weekend.

Although up to you, we highly recommend booking a room at the Grand Hotel. Treating this weekend as a true getaway—physically removing yourselves from the chores, laundry, and distractions of daily life—allows you to focus entirely on your marriage. Plus, our group block includes free parking and breakfast!

Yes! We believe every couple should have the opportunity to invest in their marriage regardless of financial circumstances. Please email us to inquire about scholarship opportunities for either your rooms or the conference.

Registrations are fully refundable up to February 5, 2027. After that date, registrations are non-refundable, but can be transferred to another couple if you are unable to attend.
